The thought started in 2011 when our founder Addam brought his first house and always wanted a puppy.
Addam fed him the best commercial
puppy food out there but noticed some fur/hair loss and consulted different
veterinarians who said it is down to his diet but they could not rule out what not to give him.
So, Addam researched pet food and he was horrified after watching a BBC panorama report
on the pet food industry and finding out what pet food is actually made of. For example,
chicken flavour pet food will have, chicken on the label but it will contain undesirable parts of the chicken
(feathers, skin, beaks) that is mixed, minced and grinded together and packaged as chicken
pet food.
Addam decided to consult vets and started preparing his own food. Made up of meat,
vegetables, and fruit; within 3 weeks he noticed the spots where there was severe fur/hair
loss had regrown and he looked comfortable no excess licking of the paw. Addam warned his family and friends
about commercial pet food and some requested Addam if he could prepare food for their
pets as they did not have time to prepare for their little fur family. Addam being a Muslim
only used halal meat as he had to store the food in his fridge or freezer. He researched and
found out majority of the pet foods use gelatine (skin of pig) as a key ingredient to mould
the mixed food together which is prohibited in Islam. After consulting Muslim scholars and
imams and reading the Ayat (below) he knew something had to be done.
Consulting with vets and sending food samples back and forth to the food testing labs. We have perfected the recipe that is ethically sourced and fully Halal.
